Two key documents are foundational to AMHOCN's Training and Service Development activities:

National Outcomes and Casemix Collection (NOCC) Domain Framework

NOCC Domain Framework

Read the detail of the Framework by following this link. The NOCC Domain Framework was developed by the National Mental Health Information Development Expert Advisory Panel (NMHIDEAP) and is focussed on describing measurable outcome domains for the individual consumer, that will align to the goals of the National Outcomes and Casemix Collection through the coming years, and which can be described in a simple framework. The lived experiences of people with a mental illness – their interaction with mental health services and with the community – underpin the structure of the NOCC Domain Framework. Therefore the concept of recovery is central and provides an overarching frame of reference.

Preparing, Sharing, Comparing: A Training Framework for the National Outcomes and Casemix Collection

The NOCC National Training Framework describes an ideal set of training activities to sustain routine outcome measurement, acknowledging that states and territories are primarily responsible for the delivery of the training outlined in the Framework. The Framework can be conceptualized as containing three broad sets of activities:

  • Preparing for the use of the measures;
  • Sharing the meaning of the measures; and
  • Comparing the measures in clinical practice.
