NOCC National Training Framework

Preparing, Sharing, Comparing: A  Training Framework for the National Outcomes and Casemix Collection (NOCC) describes an ideal set of training activities in the measures that comprise the NOCC. The Framework aims to support and sustain the national use of routine outcome measurement into the future. Recognising the role of the states and territories in the delivery of training within their services, the Framework can be conceptualized as containing three broad sets of activities:

1. Preparing for the use of the measures describes initial learning for clinical practice and focuses on:

  • Overview and Introducing the Consumer Completed Measures into Clinical Practice; and
  • Introducing the Clinician Completed Measures into Clinical Practice

2. Sharing the meaning of the measures, describes mutual learning through clinical practice with the focus on:

  • Sharing Perspectives and Shared/Supported Decision Making

3. Comparing the measures in clinical practice, describes continued learning in clinical practice with the focus on:

  • Comparing Clinical Perspectives;
  • Calibration Through Collaboration; and
  • Comparing Service Perspectives.
